Metal sheds from Waltons are secure, low-maintenance and fire-proof storage buildings that come in a wide range of useful sizes.Constructed using an innovative SnapTite assembly system, our metal garden sheds are also quick and easy to install – especially useful if you want to take yours with you when you move! Sturdy and windowless, steel sheds are also a great way to conceal your belongings from opportunist thieves, and even if they do try to break in, the metal walls will prove hard to breach. Still deciding which shed is right for you? Please take a look at our guide to buying a shed for the information you need to make an informed decision.
Choosing a metal shed
If you’re looking for a super low-maintenance, secure garden building, a metal shed makes a great choice. Built from prefabricated panels which snap together to form a rigid structure that’s built to withstand the worst of the UK weather, our metal sheds are made of ultra-tough Australian Bluescope steel and come with a 30-year rust and corrosion guarantee. Though easy to assemble, the panels which make up these sheds are designed to be padlocked together from the inside. Using your own quality locks, you can turn your shed into a veritable fortress.
Uses for metal sheds
Offering excellent storage for gardening tools and equipment – especially more expensive items like lawnmowers, bicycles, electric bikes, and scooters, our range of metal sheds takes you all the way from a handy little 5x3 metal shed all the way up to our largest metal shed measuring a very generous 20x10 ft, which you can even use as a garage for your car. A metal shed built on a concrete slab base is also by far the best way to keep vermin out of your bins. With fortnightly collections becoming increasingly common, it gives you great peace of mind to know that your rubbish is safely stored so that pests and rodents can’t get at it.
Wind and weather-proof sheds
Designed with apex or pent roofs, both of which give you plenty of headroom; with the addition of an anchoring kit for a metal shed, designed to secure your shed to a concrete slab base, even wind speeds of 147mph won't blow your steel shed down. For more information on building a concrete slab base, please consult our guide to building a shed base for step-by-step instructions.

Metal Sheds - more info
Metal sheds are known for their durability and longevity, and the simplicity of these buildings ensures simple assembly and low maintenance. Available in a range of sizes and designs, these metal garden sheds offer a reliable solution for safeguarding all kinds of outdoor equipment. Whether you’re looking for a compact design to store tools or a larger structure for bigger items or even vehicles, the metal sheds available here provide security and protection against the elements. Options include single-door space savers, metal bike sheds and even spacious workshops.
Are metal sheds any good?
Garden sheds are available in various materials so it makes sense to consider the pros and cons of each type to decide which is best for you – our ultimate shed buying guide will help you with this. But in terms of quality, you don’t have to worry – a good metal shed will provide a sturdy, secure storage solution or workshop space that’s both durable and easy to maintain. Many of the metal sheds available here come with anti-rust and corrosion guarantees and have been designed and tested to withstand high wind conditions, offering robust and long-lasting protection. What’s more, with a wide range of styles and sizes to choose from, you won’t have any trouble finding a metal shed to fit the space you have available.
How to stop condensation in a metal shed
Metal sheds are ideal for storage, so you’ll want to maximise the protection they offer by keeping condensation to a minimum. A top tip is to keep the air circulating by regularly opening doors. This might be taken care of naturally through regular use of the items you’re storing – if you have a metal bike shed, for example. But if you use your metal garden shed on a seasonal basis – say, for outdoor furniture or garden tools used mainly in the spring and summer – then remember to give it an airing at regular intervals throughout the year. Also consider how items are stored within the metal shed. Quality storage boxes, cupboards, draws and weather-proof covers are well worth the investment, and help prevent corrosion. Also try to avoid clutter to help the air circulate. If you have mains power you could consider a dehumidifier. See our guide on getting mains power to your shed for help with this.
How to insulate a metal shed
Insulating a metal shed is worth considering if you want to keep the inside temperature stable. This can help to protect stored items and provide a more welcoming environment if you’re using your metal shed as a workshop. It can also help to keep moisture to a minimum (see above). The first step for insulating your metal shed is to fill and seal any spaces in the structural frame. Next, decide on which material to use for insulating the inside walls of your shed. There are several options, including:
- Bubble wrap
- Rockwool
- PIR insulation boards
- Wool
- Hardboard
- Plywood
- Tongue and groove
- Pallet board
