How to construct a log cabin

Once you’ve prepared the base, you can construct your log cabin yourself, or you can opt for our installation service and have a team of professionals take care of it. If you decide on the DIY route, bear in mind it’s a two-person job. However, it’s possible to get it all done in a day. You’ll need the following:

  • Hammer
  • Tape measure
  • Spirit level

  • Wrench
  • Ladder

Then you’re ready for the job. Building your log cabin is a step-by-step process, which involves:

  • Laying the bearers and base logs
  • Fitting the wall logs, windows and door frames
  • Installing roof joists
  • Adding decking and roof boards
  • Laying the floorboards
  • Hanging the door
  • Fitting storm braces
  • Laying roof felt and adding finishing boards
