Lean-to greenhouses make the perfect growing space for small gardens, taking up less room than a traditional stand-alone greenhouse.
Lean-to greenhouses make the perfect growing space for small gardens, taking up less room than a traditional stand-alone greenhouse.Nestle one against a wall and turn a seemingly unusable space into a spot bursting with greenery. Walton’s has various-sized wooden lean-to greenhouses to suit your dimensions and preferences.
Waltons lean-to greenhouses are built using interlocking timber boards for a durable, weatherproof structure. Shatterproof styrene windows let in sunlight whilst filtering out UV rays, preventing damage to your carefully cultivated plants. Opening windows create seamless ventilation for temperature control, and the floorless designs allow easy drainage. Choose from the Victorian Growhouse, Lean-to Pent or Premium Pent Wooden Greenhouse or consult our greenhouse buying guide for tips on selecting your ideal greenhouse.
Small lean-to greenhouse
A small lean-to greenhouse transforms restricted or awkward spaces into a plant haven. Our compact Victorian Growhouse is ideal for gardeners who want to cultivate seedlings and cuttings and store their garden tools. The internal potting shelves make an attractive display for a miniature herb garden or a row of colourful flowers. Small lean-tos are also easy to maintain and are the perfect way to introduce children to gardening.
Best time to buy a greenhouse
Early in the year is the best time to invest in a greenhouse, as it’s before the growing season around March and April. It gives you time to set up and get everything you need to start your garden plants as the weather warms up.
Where to put a greenhouse
The best area to place your greenhouse is somewhere flat and level with plenty of sunlight. Don’t set it up by shrubbery or trees, as it will limit the amount of sun your greenhouse can get. If possible, install it somewhere sheltered and out of the wind for optimal warmth inside the greenhouse.

Lean-to greenhouses - more info
Waltons lean-to greenhouses provide space-saving shelters to pot your plants, grow seedlings and store gardening basics. Attractive, compact and classic, they’re designed for convenience with their durable wooden structures, UV-proof windows and open floors for drainage.
What is a lean-to greenhouse?
Lean-to greenhouses are structures that stand flush against a wall, so you can have a greenhouse in a small area. Our Victorian Growhouse has an attractive wooden structure with internal shelving for growing seedlings, flowers, vegetables, and more. If you are restricted for space but have a little more wiggle room, upgrade to a Lean-to Pent Wooden Greenhouse with a single, lockable door and slanting UV-protected windows for sunlight and ventilation.
Do I need planning permission for a lean-to greenhouse?
You don’t usually need planning permission for a lean-to greenhouse. However, because they are placed against walls, you may need to check with your local authority, particularly if you have a listed building. Look at our guide to planning permission for more information.
