The sheds for sale here come in various sizes and designs to fit your available space while effectively sheltering your outdoor items from the rigours of nature. Cheap wooden bike shed
Designed with weather-resistant overlap cladding, these budget-friendly sheds offer a cheap and practical solution for storing your bikes and protecting them from the elements. The design of the wooden panels means a water seal is formed and the downward angle of the boards encourages rainwater runoff, safeguarding the bikes and accessories housed within the shed from moisture. There are, of course, plenty of other items you can store securely, including tools, garden furniture, lawnmowers, barbecues and toys.

How to build a cheap wooden shed
The basic steps for building one of the cheap wooden sheds here follow the standard process for building any wooden shed, though sometimes slightly less complicated because of their simple design. It’s a fairly straightforward process. First things first: prep the area and set up the base – you can grab some tips on this from our shed base guide. Next, put the floor panel in place, and then start constructing the shed body. Fix one side to the back panel, creating an L shape. Then put the other side on, and complete the structure by attaching the front. Now put the roof in place and fit the felt covering. Any corner trims, fascia boards and finials go on next. Finish by attaching front doors and door fixings, and your shed is built and ready for any other embellishments of your choice. Read about this process in much more detail in our guide to building a wooden shed.
How to damp-proof a shed
Buying a cheap wooden shed and then neglecting its upkeep creates a false economy. You can get the most from your budget by keeping your shed – and its contents – dry and mould-free with some basic damp-proofing steps. For example, you should apply wood treatment at least once a year to protect against moisture. Ensure proper ventilation by opening up the doors regularly, allowing the air to flow properly – you could consider installing vents for this purpose too. And here’s another tip: if you use a damp-proof membrane to cover the base when you’re constructing the shed, it can help to keep condensation to a minimum. Get more advice from our guide to damp-proofing your shed.
How to insulate a storage shed
Insulating your wooden shed will offer added protection from the elements for the important items stored within. If you decide to go down this road, you start by filling gaps with expandable foam. Then, prior to insulation, attach a breathable, damp-proof membrane to the shed's inner cladding, following the manufacturer’s guidelines. For the insulation material itself, basic bubble wrap is a budget-friendly option. Rockwool provides thermal and sound insulation but can be messy, while PIR insulation boards like Celotex or Kingspan offer a tidy, rigid and fibre-free alternative. You could also consider environmentally friendly wool insulation, such as Thermafleece as a safe and sustainable option. Once you’ve made your choice and fully insulated the inside of your storage shed, cover the material with plywood, tongue and groove or pallet boards, depending on your preference.
